PROFILE
Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Doug was raised in a family of working musicians. Being much younger than his talented brothers, Doug's interest in music began at a very early age and by the age of five was performing at educational seminars for the regional "Anderson Music" chain. A highly versatile player, Doug's formative years were heavily influenced by old R&B (Otis Redding, James Brown & Al Green) and Funk (Earth, Wind & Fire). Moving to LA, Doug spent four years performing and recording with the power pop band Eden's Journal. "A great experience, with great friends" he says. With the wonderful advice of friend, Ron Gannaway (drummer for Steve Wariner, Gretchen Wilson), Doug moved to Nashville and within two weeks was touring with Trisha Yearwood. Focusing lately on a "sometimes elusive" balance of session work and travel dates, Nashville will definitely be home for a long time to come...
At the movies: Doug is Gwyneth Paltrow's drummer in the upcoming movie release "Country Strong" and also co-wrote, produced and played on the song "Strong For you" featured in the documentary film "Beyond the Myth". Check them out!

ADVICE TO ASPIRING MUSICIANS
Be confident and easygoing. He says when touring he plays an hour and the other 23 hours are all about the vibe.
