Emmy award winning drummer Gregg Potter, is the drummer with the new Buddy Rich Big Band. Gregg fronted the BR Band at the 25th Anniversary Buddy Rich Memorial Concert in England at the London Palladium in April of 2012, with that performance he has definitely put his mark on the drumming world.
Gregg began his professional career after winning the Slingerland/ Louie Bellson National Drum Contest at the legendary Frank’s Drum Shop in Chicago. While still a teenager, he landed the drumming spot with radio icon Steve Dahl. Gregg played with national recording artists Joe Walsh, Steve Stevens, and Rick Nielsen, among others, which lead to his first major label record deal with the band, SIREN. Recording, videos, and tours followed. SIREN’S first album, “All Is Forgiven” garnered two hit singles which received heavy MTV rotation and massive radio airplay.
Gregg has shared the stage with Social Distortion, Eagles of Death Metal, Good Charlotte, Third Eye Blind, LMFAO, Crash Kings, Chevelle, Taproot, Bad Religion, Malik Yusef, NOFX, Mest, Alkaline Trio, Jet, Theory Of A Deadman, Lupe Fiasco, Cheap Trick, Billy Squier, Lit, Saliva, White Tie Affair, Egypt Central, Bang Camaro, The Bomb, Solace For Now, Exit The Kings, Monster Magnet, Bullets and Octane, Shaman’s Harvest, John Ralston, Ratt, to name but a few.
Gregg has performed at the famed Milwaukee Summerfest, Warped Tour, Bamboozle Road Tour, Riot Fest , Lollapalooza BMF Artist Lounge, MOBFest, International Pop Overthrow, Dewey Beach Music Festival, SXSW, Red Gorilla Music Fest Austin, NAMM, and for the Chicago Grammy Chapter.
Another of Gregg’s career highlights is his affiliation with Modern Drummer magazine. Not only was he a featured artist, he also became a contributing writer for the magazine.
Gregg continues to record, tour, write, and gain the respect of his drumming peers.

ADVICE TO ASPIRING MUSICIANS
PRACTICE, use a metronome, and be nice to people around you in the “business.” Remember, today’s roadie could be tomorrow’s lead singer of the band you want to be in!
