Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Marshall Richardson moved to Nashville in 2000 after graduating from the University of North Texas with a BA in Music. While at UNT, Marshall studied privately with Ed Soph, Mike Drake, and Ron Fink, and performed in ensembles led by Dr. Robert Scheitroma, Jon Kellis, and Paul Rennick. As a sideman, Marshall has worked with a diverse list of artists, ranging from country legends to roots rockers, including Bernie Leadon, Lorrie Morgan, Webb Wilder, Vince Gill, Joe Nichols, Tracy Lawrence, The Long Players, Joe Diffie, Jack Greene, The Floating Men, Jypsi, Julie Roberts, Julia Burton, Paulette Carlson, Dean Miller, Rachel Proctor, Lucy Angel, The Hewitt Sisters, Katie Armiger, George Ducas, Jim Lauderdale, and Johnny Reid. Marshall's career in Nashville is a balance of recording sessions and live local, national, and international touring performances. From the soul of STAX, Hi, and American Sound Studios, to the rock and roll of Sun Records and the power pop of Big Star, Marshall is heavily influenced by the deep musical heritage of his hometown of Memphis, TN. Marshall endorses Paiste cymbals and Vater percussion.
