| PROFILE |
| Mario Calire started playing drums at a young age under the watchful eye of his piano-playing father Jimmy Calire. After high school he studied jazz, latin, and world music at the renowned California Institute of The Arts. Calire eventually hooked up with LA-based rock group The Wallflowers, experiencing great success in a stint that lasted from 1995 to 2003. In 2003, he joined up with LA band Ozomatli and set to work recording an EP called "Coming Up" as well as doing many live dates. The band released a full-length LP, "Street Signs" in 2004 for which the band has recently won a Grammy. Ozomatli continues to tour worldwide and increase their following, spreading good vibes and their unique blend of latin, hip-hop, funk, rock and reggae wherever they go.
