PROFILE
Growing up in New York surrounded by talented musicians - including his drummer father - Lou Vecchio began playing drums the minute his feet could reach the pedals. He played in his high school marching and jazz bands and practiced playing kit on his own time. Lou also kept busy playing drums in a number of local bands. A NY producer who had been working with one of those bands was struck by Lou's talent and his innate ability to groove and began using him for session work. Now working as a session drummer Lou continue studying music theory at Nassau Community College, it was during this busy time that he got the call from Disney to play with Greg Raposo. After touring with Greg for 3 years and making 3 records, Lou left to join The Atlantic. The Atlantic was under D.A.S. management and with Lou on drums they released an EP and toured throughout the year. After The Atlantic split Lou got the call for Universals Motown recording artist Vita Chambers. After a year and a half of extensive national touring with Vita, Lout joined New Politics. Lou recorded A Bad Girl in Harlem with New Politics and has been a full member of the band since.
